Scout Leader Elections

 

Each Scout has two votes:

ü One vote for Senior Patrol Leader of the troop

ü One vote for Patrol Leader of his own patrol

 

A candidate will be elected by winning more votes than any other candidate for the position, provided that at least 50% of the troop participates in the election of the Senior Patrol Leader and at least 50% of a patrol participates in the election of the Patrol Leader.

 

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

 

A Scout may hold only one leadership position at a time,
unless the Scoutmaster grants approval for an exception.

 

Senior Patrol Leader (SPL)

1st Class or higher rank

75% participation during past 6 months

Previous service as SPL, ASPL, PL or APL

 

Patrol Leader (PL)

75% participation during past 6 months

 

Other Considerations for SPL and PL

·   Experience (age)

·   Rank (training)

·   Leadership skills and behavior

·   Participation in troop meetings, activities and outings

·   Position of Responsibility requirement for advancement

 

 

 

APPOINTED LEADERS

 

The Senior Patrol Leader selects his Assistant Senior Patrol Leader (ASPL).

ASPL eligibility requirements:

1st Class or higher rank

50% participation during past 6 months

 

Each Patrol Leader selects his Assistant Patrol Leader (APL).

APL eligibility requirement:

50% participation during past 6 months

Note: Assistant Patrol Leader is not one of the

Positions of Responsibility for advancement.
