Participation Requirement
Scouts
and Venturers are required to attend at least 50%
of all regular Monday night troop meetings or regular venturing crew meetings
to be eligible for participation on major outings such as rafting, caving,
winter camping, downhill skiing, backpacking and canoeing. High Adventure Requirements Additional
requirements apply for participation in a troop-sponsored high adventure
outing. Because BSA High Adventure venues require a higher degree of Scouting
skills, Scouts and Venturers must also participate
in a majority of the camping trips, outings, projects and high adventure
shakedowns on the regular troop calendar for the ten months preceding the
high adventure. Additionally, Scout Spirit must be demonstrated throughout
the year by active service in an elected or appointed position of
responsibility and/or by leading at least one of the regularly scheduled
camping trips, outings and projects. NOTE: Deposits may be forfeited if the Troop Committee and
Scoutmaster find a Scout or Venturer ineligible
because of failure to meet these requirements. |
